EVB maintains an ongoing level of community development participation, including opportunities for the investment portfolio. In addition to investments with local counties and municipalities, we make low income housing investments through participation with the Housing Equity Fund of Virginia.
Developers of single-family subdivisions or multifamily rentals, making these properties available to those who earn 80% or less of the area median income.
The EVB Community Assistance Program is a program created to assist our existing customers who are having difficulty meeting larger basic expenses due to adverse economic conditions. There are certain criteria the borrower must meet to qualify for this program. Contact any of our branch locations for more information on this program.
EVB recognizes the importance of ongoing education on topics addressing financial responsibility. Various EVB employees have conducted training in schools and civic organizations as well as served in leadership roles for community organizations. You can access our online Financial Answer Center for a variety of topics. We also partner with ClearPoint, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote consumer health through financial education. ClearPoint provides informative seminars for customers as well as Debt and Credit Counseling.
EVB employees donate time and resources to the charity that they have identified to represent EVB's culture...Relay for Life. The employees whole-heartedly believe that every family is touched by this insidious disease. By raising money and awareness, EVB employees feel that they are making a rich contribution to society. EVB employees volunteer numerous hours of their own time. EVB, as a company, provides company time and paid time off for many volunteer efforts. EVB donates approximately $200,000 to varied causes across its branch network. Bank employees and regional boards are instrumental in making recommendations for corporate donations.
